Endorsements

Each of these endorsements is available on my LinkedIn profile under "Recommendations"

"Chris is an excellent mentor, a savvy subject matter expert, and a positive influence on his peers."

-Dan Kimmit

Chris and I worked together for more than three years. In that time, I learned more about software design and best practices then in my entire college education. Chris is an excellent mentor, a savvy subject matter expert, and a positive influence on his peers.

Chris brings a passionate focus to solving problems. He can gather requirements from diverse stakeholders, sort through noisy data, find conclusions, and get alignment with decisions. Just as importantly, Chris will document his designs, including the how decisions were made, why they were made, and the trade-offs inherent to those decisions.

Finally, Chris will execute on his designs. His list of achievements during our time together included: a from scratch build process, completely re-designing the front and back end of our main application, creation of a software user's group, and tools too numerous to count.

Chris wholeheartedly receives my endorsement in any future endeavor.

-Dan Kimmit. I reported to Dan at Cirrus Logic from 2016-2019

"My three years working with Chris helped me grow as software lead immensely. "

-Bill Eisnehower

My three years working with Chris helped me grow as software lead immensely. He helped me improve on systematically gathering requirements; this included aligning all the key stakeholders, and collaboratively designing & developing our tools. This helped our team to create more useful and better first pass products. Chris also pushed me to think bigger than the current issue, as we might be able to solve/prevent others at the same time. Chris is always working on continuously improving his products, process, and himself.

-Bill Eisenhower. I worked with Bill at Cirrus Logic from 2016-2019

"Cirrus Logic achieved the NI Center of Excellence in 2018 with Chris Cilino's help. As the manager of our validation infrastructure team, I find that the practices and principles in the CoE reduce complexity, risk, and uncertainty in the planning and execution of projects. "

-Daryl Tripp

"I can more confidently plan feature delivery, create timelines, anticipate costs, and meet internal customer expectations because of the CoE's systematic approach to application development. "

"[Chris] was an exceptionally talented engineer, very methodical and pragmatic in solving problems, while always weighing the alternatives without discarding any of them."

-Ashwin Venkitram

Chris was a LabVIEW mentor to me, first during my internship at Cirrus Logic, and then for 18 months as a full time engineer. With his charismatic guidance, I can say I have been able to transform my skills up a few levels in quality.

When not being a mentor, Chris was a brilliant visionary, who architected the Validation Framework here at Cirrus Logic and its continued improvement. He was an exceptionally talented engineer, very methodical and pragmatic in solving problems, while always weighing the alternatives without discarding any of them.

It has been a pleasure to work with Chris.

"Chris is an outstanding leader and mentor... Chris helped revolutionize the way Cirrus Logic approaches semiconductor validation software development. "

-Eric Jalufka

I had the pleasure of working with Chris for approximately 18 months at Cirrus Logic. Chris is an outstanding leader and mentor. His passion for developing LabVIEW architectures and evangelizing the use of sound software development practices is unmatched by anyone I've ever worked with. Chris helped revolutionize the way Cirrus Logic approaches semiconductor validation software development. He helped design, build, and deploy a LabVIEW validation framework that is successfully used in the US and UK. Additionally he created tools to document and deploy code which are still in use even after he moved on from Cirrus. Working with Chris has been an absolute pleasure and the software development practices he taught me have advanced my ability to deliver top-notch software to my stakeholders.

"Chris always designs keeping the end user in mind, and comes up with solutions that are simple and highly effective... Chris is an excellent leader and very methodical with an excellent decision making strategy."

-Alden Charles Fernandes

Chris has been more of a mentor to me than me just a colleague and I owe him for molding me into the engineering professional I am today. He helped me visualize and realize all my ideas using LabVIEW. I had the pleasure of working with him for around 3 years at Cirrus Logic.

Chris helped architect, design and deploy Cirrus Logic’s current validation infrastructure system. Whatever improvements or additions were to be added, he always made sure it was implemented in a way the end user could comprehend with their intermediate proficiency level with LabVIEW. Hence, Chris always designs keeping the end user in mind, and comes up with solutions that are simple and highly effective. This here is exactly what sets Chris apart from the others!

Chris is an excellent leader and very methodical with an excellent decision making strategy. Having him in your team is bound to keep the team spirit and productivity at an all time high. He has a very professional yet friendly approach that makes collaborating with him a breeze. I always looked forward to meetings conducted by Chris, as these sessions were well thought out, had a well-defined agenda, encouraged peers to collaborate, contribute & work towards efficient solutions and touched on topics that mattered to the team’s current progress.

Chris’s passion for LabVIEW is so very infectious and he doesn’t hesitate in imparting his knowledge onto his peers. During his time at Cirrus Logic, he proactively conducted LabVIEW training sessions once every week to assist and enable fellow engineers (Proficiency Level: New to Advanced). These training sessions were very hands on: Engineers were given a problem statement and Chris helped tackle the problem step by step (encouraging engineers to code and execute the solution in real time) covering all the basics an engineer would require to be proficient at LabVIEW to carryout day to day Validation tasks using LabVIEW. The training was very well planned and topics spaced out enough, to allow time to digest everything that was learnt. This way, he managed to bring the validation team up to speed with LabVIEW. Chris also encouraged fellow engineers to teach and take charge of these classes so as to build confidence in them. In addition, he also conducted code review sessions for the validation engineers so as to assist them in developing code/sequences that was efficient and standardized.

Not everybody gets the privilege to work with a LabVIEW champion. Chris Cilino is and will always be a very valuable asset wherever he goes.

"...Chris never ceases to indulge in constructive discussions on his subject of interest: software development using LabVIEW. He has been constantly supportive as a mentor, and has driven me continually towards my [goal]."

-Soham Majumder

Chris Cilino is a professional for whom superlatives are an understatement. This guy is an asset, a sheer force in any workplace. His passion towards LabVIEW is infectious, it can work wonders on colleagues, as it has done on me.

I joined Cirrus Logic on the same day as Chris, three years back, albeit I had joined as an intern then while Chris joined as the principal software engineer for our department.

However, never have I felt any isolation when it came to talking to him, over the years. His zeal and passion towards LabVIEW makes him a tireless worker, a very able problem solver and foremost, a thorough enthusiast. Irrespective of time, place, work deadlines etc, Chris Cilino never ceases to indulge in constructive discussions on his subject of interest: software development using LabVIEW. He has been constantly supportive as a mentor, and has driven me continually towards my certification goal. The kind of self belief and direction that Chris can generate is unparalleled, and this is only possible because of the love he holds for his area of expertise. On a personal level, I found Chris to be an extremely upbeat and amicable individual, and discussions with him are thought provoking and fun at the same time. He is an extremely articulate thinker, a dreamer and a very able implementer. He has the ability to champion his cause with effortless ease, having driven a number of key development decisions within the company during his tenure at Cirrus.
